TPA Announces New Manager starts January 2019

NEW MANAGER APPOINTED AT TPA

Tenants Protection Association Chair, Anthony Rimell, today announced that Penny Arthur has been appointed as the Manager of Tenants Protection Association (TPA).

Penny will commence with TPA on 21 January 2019.

Penny is currently employed at Community Law Canterbury in Christchurch. Penny was previously a member of the Executive Committee of TPA.

Penny brings significant skills to her new role, having managed an education and advocacy team in a not for profit environment previously.

There has been recent discussion related to the possible regulation of Property Managers in New Zealand.

TPA Christchurch is a signatory, along with 25 other advocacy organisations and property management professionals,to an open letter to Ministers Phil Twyford, Andrew Little and Aupito William Sio calling for regulation of the industry.

TPA has long been advocating a "housing first" model of homelessness prevention.  Get the housing right first, make it permanent and suitable.  THEN bring in the services and supports to ensure the householder remains in place.
