Christchurch City Council - Developing Housing Policy

Paul Cottam (CCC) will present a draft Housing Policy that the Council has been developing.  This is a chance for discussion and comment rather than a formal consultation, in preparing a draft document to present to Council for its wider consideration.

Copies will be made available for people to take away and consider further.

National Science Challenge - Building Better Homes Towns & Cities

The National Science Challenges are a major new government mechanism for investing in research.  The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Enterprise has identified 11 areas of research, one of which is 'Building Better Homes, Towns and Cities'.  The Minister anticipates that the knowledge created by this Challenge will transform our urban environments into more vibrant places to live and give us affordable, well-located houses and buildings that meet the demands of our diverse population and are resilient to change and shocks such as natural disasters.

Dr Suzanne Vallance will provide more detail on the Challenge, its Vision, Mission and the six Strategic Research Areas, and gratefully receive any feedback on the approach taken to date
