Delta Community Support Service Update under Alert Level 3

Delta Community Support is running two services under Level 3:

1. Food store: delivery only, with no public comeing to the building. Ring 08002DELTA to organise a parcel.

2. Now we are also delivering meals to our Elderly clients from the Evergreen Club from Mon-Fri.

No other changes until Level 2.

Aspire Canterbury Service Update under Alert Level 3

Aspire Canterbury will continue to operate our services ‘on the road’. Our staff are out and about taking services to people in their own community.

CAB phone services is operating between 10am - 3pm, Monday- Friday.

Kainga Ora (Housing NZ) Service Update under Alert Level 3

All Kāinga Ora staff have been working from home under Level 4, and the offices will remain closed under Level 3.

Our Tenancy Services staff continue to ring tenants across the country checking on their welfare and connecting anyone who needs help from agencies including FoodBank.

Our construction sites, which have been closed down, are expected to re-open under Level 3 with social distancing and health and safety guidelines.

    All CRS staff are currently working from home and the contact will maintain through phone, email and online. Exiting clients will be contacted by staff and have the option to call or text sooner if required.

    Service Update from Community Law Canterbury

    CLC is offering legal advice through telephone appointments with solicitors during lockdown.

    Update from Environmental Canterbury

    6.May 2020 Update:

    Warmer Kiwi Homes and Healthier Homes Canterbury are now operating under level 3. This means people have access to assessments of their homes by certified Home Performance Advisors (free in Christchurch with thanks to CCC) and access to subsidies and financial assistance for insulation, home heating and ventilation costs. We have checked that suppliers have good Health & Safety in place and do not put vulnerable people at risk. These initiatives are supported by ECan, CCC, CDHB and Community Energy Action.

    Otautahi Community Housing Trust (OCHT) will keep supporting our tenants during the COVID-19 Level 4 lockdown.

    We help New Zealanders to be safe, strong and independent.

    We work to provide:

    • employment, income support and superannuation services
    • funding to community service providers
    • student allowances and loans

     

    The Ministry of Social Development is here to help during Covid-19 with financial support for emergency and on-going needs. MSD service centres are currently closed to keep people safe, so all appointments are now done over the phone to help people in need.
